The restaurant
Enjoying a traditional pizza or an authentic family recipe in an exceptional setting, such is the motto of «Chez Jeannot». It may seem simple on paper but it remains our daily challenge: to share our Marseille accent and the flavours of our dishes with the same consistency. The simple and friendly atmosphere, "à la marseillaise", which has made the place a success, has been preserved in this unique setting and has since become an institution in Marseille. People have been flocking to Jeannot's for decades and, if the old-timers find there the respect of the southern culinary tradition, the youngest are seduced by the accessible and colourful cuisine, tasty and without fuss. In the dining room or on the terrace when the weather is nice, Chez Jeannot brings together all generations, sharing a taste for good things and savouring the panorama of one of the most emblematic sites in Marseille. Isn't this a certain idea of happiness?
Our pizza for 70 years
A real institution in Marseille that brings together all types of people, pizza has always been the «star» at Chez Jeannot. Our equipment has evolved over time, bringing more technique and precision in cooking but at Chez Jeannot, pizza has always remained authentic: homemade dough, cooked over a wood fire, generous and fed with quality ingredients and products. To be enjoyed alone or with others, Chez Jeannot’s pizza is also synonymous with simple pleasure, sharing and conviviality. Among the classic recipes that the restaurant perpetuates, we find the famous «moit moit» (half cheese, half anchovy on a tomato sauce base) so popular in Marseille and soon, afficionados will once again be able to savour the emblematic recipe of the pizza with supoins, which also made Chez Jeannot famous.

The world Alphonse and Jean
The Alphonse and Jean group has its roots in the small fishing port of Vallon des Auffes in Marseille.
Based on two establishments - CHEZ FONFON and CHEZ JEANNOT - created by the Alphonse and Jean MOUNIER siblings in this picturesque district of Marseille, the Alphonse et Jean group has today gone beyond the family setting to become a true signature.
If the foundations were laid 70 years ago with the creation of a Marseilles culinary institution - CHEZ FONFON - based on the expertise of local fishermen, the life journey of the two brothers from Marseilles – and then their descendants - has allowed the birth and development of new emblematic places.
The Fresh fish and bouillabaisse of Chez Fonfon, the pizza and the setting of Chez Jeannot, the «on the go» from Chez Viaghji, the traditional cuisine of Escale in Valencia, the butcher’s shop of Pépé Guido in Samatan (Marseille), the wine estate of Les Césars in Tulette draw more than the contours of a group.
They define an ART OF LIVING.
We invite you to share it with us.
